Clutter has a way of taking over our lives. When a home is filled with clutter it takes on a life of it’s own, robbing us of both our physical and mental space. It sits there waiting for us until we decide to do something about it!
Rather than trying to do it all in one go (way too overwhelming and most of us do not have the time!) try taking 15 minutes each day to begin with, to declutter an area.
It’s that time of year again……the nights are getting shorter, the mornings are cooler, yes, autumn is on it’s way……! This transitional time of the year when the seasons are beginning to change is a GREAT time to review and evaluate your wardrobe. A declutter clears the deck for the season ahead, so…..how is your wardrobe looking?
So summer is in full swing now – HOORAY! – and although most of you will be back to work and the kids back to school, there is still fun to be had in the sun. So…..here are my top tips for keeping organised this year.
Procrastination……. such a great word and so many causes! Many people struggle with procrastination – usually on a daily basis. Does any of this sound familiar……? I will do it tomorrow……I have more important things to do…….I’m tired…….I can’t be bothered……..I’m too busy…….I don’t have time……I don’t know where to start……??
“A place for everything and everything in it’s place”
This is a motto that I really love!! This motto can be used in every area of your home – if everything you own has a home and is in it’s place, you will always know where everything is and it will make your life easier. So here are my top tips for organising your living space this spring!
Often it’s the little things that can get out of control – it’s amazing how many takeaway menus come through the front door every week!! And where to put them? Usually in the junk drawer or more likely, into the bin as you have not created a place to put them. Being a bit of a takeaway fiend, I have looked into ways to store those takeaway menus (only the ones you love!) and this is what I came up with.
You can have SO much fun with clipboards – I have been using them pretty much all my life for various reasons and never tire of their uses. They can be hung in a variety of places and be used for different purposes. I really like the way that you can change what you clip onto them, in any room at any time really quickly, which changes the look of the room almost instantly! They are great way to get organised too.
Creative kids – I know, every piece is a masterpiece, and although we truly treasure the masterpieces our budding artists create, let’s face it…without a way to organize and store our children’s artwork, it adds to the clutter in our homes. A refrigerator can only hold so much art!! Here are some tips on keeping on top of your child’s art.
