10 things organised people do every day

I love that feeling of being organised and getting things done – my days run smoother and I generally feel happier! I am in control of my day rather than my day being in control of me. There are many things you can do to be more organised, but I have picked out my 10 favourites. You don’t have to try them all at once – start by giving one thing a go then another and another, and before you know it, you will feel like you are in control of each and every day. So here are my 10 top picks……

Spring top tips, dos and don’ts!

Spring has sprung!! And I couldn’t be happier. I’m loving that “Spring” feeling when change is in the air, the birds are singing, the days are longer and summer is on it’s way. And yes, you guessed it – a BRILLIANT time to declutter now that winter is behind us at last. (more…)

Keeping flat surfaces clutter free

Do you cover every available surface in your home with stuff? Have your surfaces become a dumping ground for items that either don’t have a home or you couldn’t be bothered to put away? The clutter on surfaces tends to build up over time – it often starts when we come home after a busy day, and it’s easier just to chuck items down and deal with them later. But in many cases, later never happens…… (more…)

Thinking about a garage sale? Want to get rid of those items that are no longer loved or used? Not sure how to go about it? Well there’s no time like the present in my book – I believe that any time is a good time to have a garage sale these days. Want to change the world? Start by making your bed!

US Navy Admiral William H. And by the end of the day, that one task completed, will have turned into many tasks completed.” (more…)

A simple one step solution to a clutter free home!

Are you feeling overwhelmed with the clutter that is piling up throughout your home? Little piles that turn into bigger piles until it all seems too much? Most clutter happens when we put something down because we don’t feel like dealing with it at that moment. It can be called “Lazy Clutter.” When you do that, you end up spending twice as much time dealing with it because you still have to go back to it later. I have come to the conclusion that if we all adopt this one simple step, we will have a clutter free home forever. It’s not rocket science, either. It’s just a habit to get into and once you start doing it, it will become second nature to you. I have adopted this rule throughout my life and also into the lives of my clients and believe me, it really does work!! (more…)

First Aid fun

I frequently get asked about first aid kits and the best way to store items. The busy families I work with often have a lot of first aid stuff, which has built up over time. Time and time again I have found the best and bulletproof way to store items, is to separate them into clear plastic containers with a lid. Sistema is a NZ brand that I enjoy using and are available at Storage Box,The Warehouse and even your local supermarket. Before buying the containers, firstly check the expiry dates of your medicines and access whether or not the items are still current, needed and in working order. As you do so, start sorting the items you are keeping into like with like. Try these categories: (more…)
